For the past couple of months, I've explored and experimented with new materials and media within my common themes of reflection, strength, and connection. One of the materials I've been working with has inspired this whole new series.
I'm excited to reveal this new work for my upcoming solo show, called "Ghost Currency and Transformation," which opens at GRACe Gallery (888 E. 50th Avenue) in Denver on Thursday, October 12th at 6 p.m. I'd like to personally invite you to the exhibition. RSVP, here.
About the show:
"As we move beyond challenges in life, we often focus on quieting the lingering ghosts as quickly as possible. What if we stopped struggling and paused to honor our suffering, using reflection as a currency for transformation? In Angela Craven’s exhibition at GRACe Gallery, she uses joss paper, or ghost money, in her newest work as a metaphor for revering our so-called ghosts."
I'll be sharing details of the material I'm using and some sneak previews of the work going into the show. You can follow along here, by subscribing to my newsletter and on Instagram. I hope to see you at the Opening Reception on Thursday, October 12th!
