Panelists include writer, curator, and Hey Hue founder Deanne Gertner; holistic therapist and founder of Trilogy Holistic Mental Health, Chelli Pumphrey, independent curator and University of Denver affiliate faculty, Sarah Magnatta; and Denver artist and design researcher, Angela Craven.

Illuminate Live Painting in Response to Denver Choir League's "Illuminate" Performance: May 19, 2019
I'm excited to be collaborating with Denver’s very own Denver Choir League (think: beer league sports…but for singing!).
They will perform two pieces, including Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna and the Colorado premiere of William Menefield’s Prism, both accompanied by a chamber orchestra. As DCL’s current ensemble of more than 80 singers serenades the audience, I will create an original work of art in real-time, based on what radiates from the stage.
WHEN: Sunday, May 19 - Doors at 4:45, Show at 5:30
WHERE: Mile High Spirits (2201 Lawrence Street, Denver, CO, 80205)
TICKETS: $16 can be purchased here
MORE ABOUT THE EVENT:
Illuminate will explore light’s ability to illuminate our path forward, the way we see others, and our own voices,” said Katy Lushman, the founder and artistic director of DCL. “It will be an enchanting evening of both art and song, highlighting not only the talent and passion of Denver’s arts community but also its dedication to supporting music education for local students.”
As audience members sip locally-made cocktails from Mile High Spirits and listen to the dazzling voices of DCL, abstract expressionist painter Angela Craven will delight the audience with a visual representation created in real-time. Craven’s paintings are focused on reflection, strength, and connection, acting as a visual reminder for people to connect with their strength and to celebrate the meaningful people and experiences in their lives.
DCL will donate a portion of each ticket sold to El Sistema Colorado, a nonprofit that transforms the lives of children through music by providing music programs that teach the importance of teamwork, promote self-confidence, and instill the value of social responsibility. Ticket proceeds will benefit children in the Globeville, Elyria-Swansea, Cole, and Clayton neighborhoods. (Read more about El Sistema Colorado here).
