COMMISSIONS
Commissions are one of my favorite aspects of being an artist. From celebratory paintings that mark milestones and important moments in your life to memorializing a loved one, I love the process of getting to know you, hearing your story, and collaborating with you to create a unique piece of art that captures the essence of your story.
In addition to my education and background in fine art, I’ve pulled from more than fifteen years of experience in human-centered design and research for software. This process relies heavily on ethnographic field interviews to create a warm and welcoming commission process that guides our conversations and assists in surfacing your stories, memories, and aspirations. All of this then informs your final painting.
THE PROCESS
The process of creating your painting involves a series of conversations and interactive components. Its foundation is built on active listening, which makes space for you to tell your story. These conversations' outcome is a shared understanding of your story and memories more deeply. They inform the aesthetic of the painting and resulting in a finished product that serves as a tangible presentation of intangible experiences.
